Don Everly Dies At The Age of 84

Don Everly, one of the Everly Brothers, dies at the age of 84 on August 21 at his home in Nashville. "All I Have To Do Is Dream" and "Wake Up Little Susie" are some of the sensations created by the Everly brothers in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

"Don lived by what he felt in his heart. Don expressed his appreciation for the ability to live his dreams... with his soulmate and wife, Adela, and sharing the music that made him an Everly Brother," a statement said. Don Everly was an aggressive guitar player who along with his younger brother Phil Everly inspired generations of rock performers. Don Everly was a hitmaking songwriter in his teens, writing in "Thou Shall Not Steal" and "Here We Go Again," which was recorded by Kitty Wells and Anita Carter, respectively.

Don Everly's marriages to Mary Sue Ingraham, model and actress Venetia Stevenson and Karen Prettyman ended in divorce.

The Everly Brothers were awarded the Grammy Award in 1997 and were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001.
