Florida recorded its highest ever daily count of covid-19 cases on Saturday. The cases peaked at around 21,683 after the reopening of theme park resorts in the state. Florida now stands at fifth for the most number of covid-19 cases in the country.
Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has insisted on mandatory vaccination and social distancing among people. All local authorities have been ordered to impose restrictions to prevent the spread of the virus.
The previous day number of cases recorded in Florida was 17,093. The highest number of cases recorded in Florida since the start of the pandemic before this was 19,334.
The number of cases has jumped over 50% since last week and, the number of beds in hospitalization has obtained the previous year's peak, said the Health Officials.
