George Bush Shared Sadness Over Afghanistan's Situation

The United States former President, George Bush, has asked for the people in America to accept the immigrants from Afghanistan. Taliban's took over the Afghan government on 15th August and regained power in Afghanistan after almost two decades.

Bush said, "The Afghans now at the greatest risk are the same ones who have been on the forefront of progress inside their nation. Like our country, Afghanistan is too made up of resilient, vibrant people. Nearly 65 per cent of the population is under twenty-five years old". George Bush was the one who started this war 20 years and, this war stands as America's longest in history. Bush declared this war as a means to remove the terror organization al Qaeda, which had taken sanctuary in Afghanistan under the militant Taliban regime, following the 9/11 terror attacks.

Shortly after invading the country, Bush also sent troops to Iraq to remove its president, Saddam Hussein one of Bush's earliest goals upon taking office under the false premise that he was harboring weapons of mass destruction. A budget of $500 million was allocated by President Biden, to help immigrants migrate from Afghanistan and also provide them with Special Immigrant Visas.
