Gervonta Davis Aborts Takeoff Because Of Nose Gear Collapse

Gervonta Davis' plane got aborted at the last minute because of a nose gear collapse at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport. There were around seven people along with Davis on the flight and, they luckily got escaped at the last minute.

The pilots aborted the takeoff sometime around 2 p.m. ET, City of Fort Lauderdale public information officer Mike Jachles told ESPN. Jachles said pilots lost control of the direction of the plane.

"Damn! that plane almost took out," Davis captioned an Instagram post that included four photos of Davis and his fellow passengers standing on the runway. "I walk w angels," Davis posted on an Instagram story later Saturday. In an Instagram live video Davis shared, he said, "For everybody that want to fly private, I think it's over with...I'm driving or catching a train," per ESPN.

Davis, the 2012 Golden Gloves bantamweight champion, went on to become the super lightweight champion in June by knocking out Mario Barrios in the 11th round.

Following a February 2020 physical incident that went viral online and involved the mother of his daughter, Davis turned himself into Florida police on a simple battery domestic violence charge. Davis also might face prison for the accident which he caused in March.
