Iowa man wins $400,000 lottery after proposing to girlfriend.

Nick Miller had already been enjoying a delightful weekend when he made a spontaneous decision to try his luck with the lottery.

Hailing from Bernard, Iowa, the 31-year-old had just recently proposed to his girlfriend on June 22. The following morning, while enroute to work on a cattle ranch with his brother, he made a quick stop at Casey's convenience store in Cascade, Iowa.

Inside the store, Miller's attention was drawn to the Super 7s Progressive InstaPlay game, boasting a jackpot nearing $400,000. Seizing the opportunity, he purchased a ticket, anticipating the possibility of a significant win.

Curiosity got the best of him, and while sitting in his truck, Miller decided to check the results. To his sheer amazement, luck was on his side as he emerged as the winner of the game's progressive jackpot, which amounted to an impressive sum of approximately $390,101. Notably, this jackpot had been steadily growing for over two months since its last win in April.

The Super 7s Progressive InstaPlay jackpot initiates at $50,000 and progressively increases with each ticket sold throughout the state until it is claimed. The cost to participate in the game is $30.

Choosing to keep the news under wraps, Miller and his fiancé refrained from sharing their exciting win for a week while enjoying a family vacation. He expressed that it was a fantastic way to commence their engagement, adding an extra touch of joy to their special moments.

On Monday, Miller officially claimed his well-deserved prize at the Iowa Lottery headquarters, cheerfully remarking to the officials, "I guess I'm ready for the next chapters of life!"
