US FDA gives full approval to Pfizer vaccine.

According to New York Times report, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is planning to grant permission to the usage of Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine.

Pfizer will be used as a full-time vaccine by early next month. It filed for full approval ― called a biologics license application ― with the agency in early May.

The FDA thinks the full approval of the Pfizer vaccine might inspire more confidence in the COVID-19 vaccines and has taken all steps and measures for it. The earlier plan was to approve Pzifer by January 2022.

However, the agency has planned to approve it right before Labors Day due to the current situation. Moderna, whose COVID-19 vaccine was approved in December for people aged 18 and up, has also applied for full approval from the FDA and is giving the agency new data on a rolling basis.

Pfizer and Moderna both have applied to expand the vaccine trials for children aged 5-11.
